A Desperately Needed Haircut

HaircutBeforeAfter

The interesting thing about this challenge is how many things you really don’t even think about on a regular basis.

So take a haircut for example… in a given year I probably get 11 haircuts. You see… I have an odd relationship with my hair. It grows fast and it grows thick, which means  like clockwork I start to get annoyed with my hair about every 30 days. Well… usually, a haircut is just an inconvenience that I try to  put off until I really have to but this year, I don’t exactly have the luxury of being able to do it whenever I want.

Like a lot of times in doing this challenge, things you might need are not easy to come by. There was at least 4 different days where I SERIOUSLY considered just taking the hours it would have taken to shave my head with the BIC razors. Can you imagine?! Eesh. I’m constantly finding that this experience has put me on the edge of perceived insanity on more than one occasion… I said from the first day that I hoped not to having an outcome like We Live In Public - but I do fear the longer I do this, the more times it *might* happen…

Well fortunately though… my hair has been cut! John’s Barber Salon isn’t presumptuous. It’s not the kind of place that you worry your haircut might be $100 because they gave your hair a wash. It’s just a couple people who cut hair at a fair price. (A basic guys cut is $17!) Kenny is highly skilled with the men’s cuts and does all the ‘hot ticket’ items like fades, line ups and designs. While Sattie is a master with the women’s cuts. They are also incredibly friendly!

With a fresh cut, I’ve been taking on the world feeling like a million bucks… it really is amazing what a simple, inexpensive thing like a haircut can do to change your mood and your mind!

John’s Barber Salon is located at 742 Broadview Ave (Broadview and Danforth).

You clean up nice Zach. It’s amazing how the little things can mean so much when you don’t have easy access to them.

haha thanks Alexa! A clean up was definitely needed. And yes, absolutely! If there’s one thing I continue to learn is that every convenience we have is a major blessing!
